At home pamper day

After working seven days straight following on from moving house last weekend, I was desperate for a few days off to relax and recharge a bit. I always say how important self-care is and today was my day to just chill out and put myself first.

Today was the perfect opportunity for a bit of a pamper. We are living with my parents at the moment while our new place is being finished, but everyone was at work and school so I had the place to myself – if you don’t include the two goldies who followed me around like shadows all day!

I always like to start with a nice hot bubble bath. I managed to get some The Body Shop Vanilla Chai bath foam on the sale rack a few weeks ago, so my baths already smell autumnal. Of course, I light a few candles to make it more spa-like in my parents’ vintage tub.

I used my usual Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner, with Lee Stafford’s Coco Loco hair mask in between. Seems weird, but the instructions say to use it between shampoo and conditioner and it really seems to work. My hair is lovely and soft afterwards with minimal flyaways, and it smells really good too!

Once I’ve had my bath, exfoliated my skin and cleansed my face, it’s time for multi-masking with Lush’s fresh facemasks. This time, I chose Brazened Honey and Catastrophe Cosmetic to try and get my skin under control. I love Lush’s fresh facemasks; they always work really well and smell lovely. Despite being about £7 for a small pot, they seem to last ages so I think they’re worth the price.

Now my skin is buffed, my face is glowing and my hair is looking lovely, its time for nails. I got a gel nail kit for my birthday a few years ago and I still love spending time doing my nails every couple of weeks. That’s a huge perk of gel nails, they last ages compared to normal nail varnish. As it’s my birthday on Monday, I went for a nude pink with some rose gold studs for an edgy look that will go with any outfit for my birthday weekend.

The perfect way to end an at home pamper day? Put your feet up of course! I spent the rest of the afternoon watching Netflix, including a forever favourite of mine – Gilmore Girls! Since it’s been on Netflix, I have watched every episode over and over again. Well, in between watching episodes of Friends of course!

How do you pamper yourself when you have a day to yourself? Let me know on social media!
